APPOINTMENTS

The surgery is open from 0800 am to 1830 pm Monday to Friday. During opening hours, the phone lines are closed between 1300 pm to 1400 pm.

We are aware the phone lines are very busy. If possible, we recommend contacting us by using our website instead of calling the practice. The website allows you to request appointments, seek information about health symptoms, conditions or treatment, request Fit Notes or ask us for help on any other issue.

Some of our appointments are delivered by Healthsense PCN, our Primary Care Network. These are delivered from various local locations like The Pinn Medical Centre, The Ridgeway Surgery, and The Alexandra Avenue Health and Social Care Centre. The appointments may also be offered in the evening or weekends.

If you need medical advice, please submit a request using our online triage platform

Alternatively, you can call us on 0208 863 3333. The care navigator will be able to assist you with your query

Important Information about our Appointments

We need 24 hours notice if you are unable to come to your appointment.

If we have your mobile number, we will send you a text to remind you that you have an appointment the following day.

The time allowed for routine GP appointments is 10 minutes. If you arrive late for your appointment, you will only be seen at the discretion of the clinician. Patients arriving more than 10 minutes late will not be seen and will be asked to rebook their appointment.

How does the appointment system work?

Our GPs now work with other specialist clinicians here at the surgery and across the Healthsense PCN.  You may be directed to see one of the other clinicians to get the most appropriate and timely care.

If you think you need an appointment, please send us a Patchs request. This request is triaged by our clinicians and care coordinators, who can direct the request to the most appropriate service.

Appointments are offered based on a patient’s need e.g. telephone, face to face, same day, within 72 hours, within 2 weeks. All Patchs requests, received before 4 pm, are dealt with on the same day. Around 90% of requests, which require an appointment, are booked for the same day. Therefore, please ensure that you are available on the day you submit your request as you may be required to attend an appointment on the day of request.

Request on Patchs can be submitted in a language of your choice. For more information please visit https://help.patchs.ai/hc/en-gb/sections/360012017153-Patchs-Translate

Patchs is usually available from 8 am. Based on appointment capacity, Patchs reopens at 2 pm. Once our capacity to safely assess patients is reached, Patchs will no longer be available for the day.

However, our telephone lines are open from 08:00 – 13:00 and 14:00 – 18:30. Our care navigators are on hand and have been trained to recognise requests that require prompt attention.

This also includes any requests for under 5’s and over 75’s, requests from vulnerable patients and from any patient who has difficulty submitting their request online.

We do understand that Patchs is not a ‘one size fits all’ and our care navigators (Reception team) will be able to support you with accessing the most appropriate service.

Home visits

Patients are encouraged to attend the surgery whenever possible. If you think you need a home visit please request as early as possible, preferably before 10 am – it gives the doctor a chance to assess the urgency of your request.

Unless the request is very urgent, patients are visited between morning and afternoon surgery. Home visits are for housebound patients or for those patients too ill to attend the Medical Centre.
